Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Program

SERVICES

The Office of Housing and Urban Devolopment (HUD) awarded the Housing Authority of the County of Butte rental assistance vouchers for the administration of the HUD-VASH (Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing) program! The HUD-VASH program provides rental housing assistance to qualified Homeless Veterans throughout Butte County in conjunction with case management services provided by a licensed clinical social worker at the VA. The section 8 vouchers are administered by the Housing Authority of the County of Butte. The VA social worker supports each veteran and assists him/her to utilize the resources they may need to maintain permanent housing.

WHO QUALIFIES?

This program was designed to address the needs of the most vulnerable homeless veterans. To be eligible for the program, veterans must be eligible for VA medical services, meet the definition for chronically homeless and willing to participate in case management services.
