How to Apply
When the Wait list is opened, the HACB website will be updated to include an online application. A large popup will be found on the home page directing you to the Online Application. Follow the instructions and submit your application. When completed, you should receive a confirmation email. You can log into the portal to update your information and check your status. At the end of wait list open period, the application will be closed and the application will be removed from the website. There will be no advantage to apply early as the applications are randomly selected.Application Process Rules:
When the Wait list opens, Only one application per head of household will be accepted. HACB will randomly select 1,500 applications from all applications received, giving the selected applicants a ranking, and adding these to our Section 8 Wait list. Each applicant will be notified by mail and E-mail if their application was selected for the Wait list. Due to funding, not all applicants will be selected. If your application is selected, your notification letter will give you further instructions.NOTES
✓ The application process is free, you will not be asked for payment information.✓ All applicants from the previous Wait Lists will be selected first prior to current lottery applicants.
✓ Due to limited funding, only 1,500 applications will be randomly selected. The selection process is done electronically after the application process has closed. There is no benefit to registering early.
✓ The Wait List rank order will be randomly selected by computer.
✓ The Housing Authority of the County of Butte is not responsible for incomplete applications.
