Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program Wait List
The Wait List is currently closed.
The Section 8 Waiting list was last opened on April 1st through April 30th, 2012. The Section 8 Waiting has not yet be scheduled to reopen. Typically, the waiting will open every 2 to 3 years depending on the number of applicants on the list.
All applications from the 2012 application process have been collected and are being processed. After processing the applications, a random lottery will take place randomly assigning a rank to each applicant. As applicants reach the beginning of the list, the Housing Authority will contact the applicant. Applicants who do not respond will be removed from the waiting list. For this reason, it is very important to keep your mailing address current with the Housing Authority.
By July 1, 2012, a web tool will be posted on this website explaining how to check your rank. The list will be updated monthly for the remaining life of the list.

✓ All applicants from the 2010 Wait List will be selected first prior to 2012 lottery applicants.✓ The Wait List rank order will be randomly selected by computer.
✓ The Wait list rankings will be available on this site at the following link: 2012 Section-8 Wait List results
✓ We will not be able to confirm the receipt of your application until the Final Wait List is posted.
✓ A confirmation number will be provided after submitting your applications, Your confirmation number will be
needed to find your position on the Wait List. Please record this number for your records.
✓ The Housing Authority of the County of Butte is not responsible for incomplete applications.
✓ If you do not have your confirmation number, you will need to leave a voice mail message by calling
530-895-4474 extension 256. Allow 72 hours for your call to be returned. Calls regarding Rank or confirmation
numbers will not be accepted until after the waiting list is closed.
